Sun in the 12th House

The major theme of this year is confinement, either self-imposed or imposed by circumstances. While you may be restrained in a physical sense, your spirit is likely to be uplifted. The more that you can transcend physical restrictions the more that you are likely to find this year rewarding. For instance this is the ideal time for spiritual retreat and renewal, for working in service to humanity or for intense study or a project that requires concentrated behind the scenes effort. In a woman's chart this can indicate pregnancy. Some of the structures in your life may have dissembled enabling you to contemplate your past, present and future. Your year is likely to be littered with opportunities for quiet contemplation, to work behind the scenes and to support other people. In other words this is not your time to shine in the sun, but rather to reflect in the shadows. It is an excellent year during which to lay the groundwork for a future project. For instance this year you could begin to write your memoirs in preparation for publication next year. Whatever your circumstances it is time to assimilate all that you have learnt before you move forward. Patience is a virtue. US President John Quincy Adams once said, "patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish." This could be your year's motto.
You may also be required to be of service to other people either those close to you or humanity in general. In particular you may spend time in an institution such as working in a library, or tending to the sick and needy in hospital. In spiritual terms this may feel like the dark night of the soul, but you are soon to experience spiritual enlightenment. This is a year to go with the flow, act with integrity and understand that your experiences are leading to an awakening in some area of your life.

Sun in the 8th House

As you have become clear about your hopes and wishes for your life, so are you now ready  to instigate change. You may seek counselling or advice to help you implement the changes that you have been preparing for, because you are well aware of the consequences of your actions this year. The major theme is change. If you have been single then you may marry, if married then you may seek  changes in your marriage perhaps even a divorce. As a new parent, you may welcome the birth of a child, or assist an older child to leave your home.

You may make investments this year that change your lifestyle, or benefit from past investments giving you more freedom for self-development. Business interests may also fluctuate, with you joining or leaving a business. Your finances are likely to fluctuate during this year, particularly those tied up with other people in or in investments.

Relationships with those close to you are likely to be intense as you seek new experiences. Whereas last year you may have been more social, more willing to consider other people's interests, this year you are unlikely to brook any opposition when it comes to making the necessary changes in your own life. Therefore, you could feel as though a phase of your life has ended. Even if nothing changes in your world, you are likely to feel as though you are making intense changes in your own private emotional life. Metaphysically speaking, you are transforming your outlook on the world. Most likely the material world will shift too, but it is possible that you simply view your life and those around you differently. Either way the changes undergone this year pave the way for a new reinvigorated, creative experience.

Sun in the 6th House

It is time to focus on your lifestyle. This could range from a new health regime, to a new job or it could involve a complete change of scenery. This year you are prepared to change your habits. You are not necessarily going to change your life direction, but rather the details of how you live your life. The emphasis is on the minutiae rather than the big picture.

Therefore this year is the ideal time to turn your attention to goods and services. How long since you had your car serviced? Do you need to change a washer in a leaking tap? Does your pet need vaccinations? These are the sorts of daily chores that need your attention right now. If you have been putting off renovations then you may need to do some updating of your house right now. However, the emphasis is more likely to be on health and occupation. You are likely to maintain your current career choice, but office politics may influence your choice of work place. Your role at work may change, become more demanding or you may change workplaces or employers, or become self-employed. If you are already self-employed then you may simply change your daily work practices by employing someone else to carry out tasks that you would normally undertake yourself.
If you have been overworked then you can opt to downsize or delegate some responsibilities. If you are unemployed then you are likely to spend a lot of time and energy searching for a job, and are likely to find one. This year presents an opportunity for you to change your daily habits, and to improve your organization skills and lifestyle. Daily life is likely to be busier, rather than calmer, this year. Therefore it is time to rearrange your calendar. Holidays won't
just happen. You have to schedule relaxation time. You may benefit from starting
meditation or yoga practices. It is important that you schedule in time for fitness. This year presents an excellent opportunity for you to improve your diet, take up a fun and healthy activity and have a health check. In fact you are likely to be required to have a health check or get fit as the result of a work project. Perhaps your boss signs you up for a gym, or perhaps you are self-motivated to join a health club. Either way it is the ideal time to improve your fitness levels and address any niggling physical ailments. Listen to your body.

You may also be drawn to small animals, perhaps adding a pet to your household, or focusing more on a current pet. It is time to dwell of minor adjustments rather than major changes. The more that you pay attention to the details now the more that you are able to enjoy your home and personal life in the following year. Free Birth Chart Report

How many solar houses in your chart

Many people are familiar with their own astrological sign because Sun sign astrology is popular in today's culture. However astrology is a complicated tradition and many other techniques exist. These techniques can be used to gain greater understanding of a person’s nature, but also of their current opportunities.   A Birth Chart is produced that astrologers can interpret. This you probably know. What you may not know is that astrologers can also calculate a chart for each of your birthdays, and these charts can predict the patterns that you might experience in the forthcoming year. This is because each year the Sun does a full revolution of the Zodiac. Therefore each year the Sun returns to the exact position of your Birth Chart Sun. Wherever you are in the world astrologers can calculate this birthday chart. This chart is called a Solar Return; hence the saying "many happy returns". This chart represents the opportunities and challenges of the forthcoming year. It should also be read in conjunction with your Birth Chart to fully understand the lessons and opportunities available to you in any given year.
Astrologers will give you a full and comprehensive interpretation of your Solar Return.  However, given that the Sun plays a prominent role in determining this chart this article includes some interpretations of the Sun through the Houses and what they mean for any given year.
The Sun is very important when interpreting a Solar Return chart given that the chart is based on the Sun. It indicates the major theme of the year depicting the area in which you would really like to shine. Parts of your life that have been seemingly unimportant in previous years can become very important once the Sun shines its light in a particular house of a Solar Return chart.

Astrological Components

The full art of astrology involves a number of different essential components. It requires the time and place an event took place, which is most commonly the birth of a person. At the time of this event, Astrology then looks at the position of The Planets in the sky, the Signs, the Houses, and the Aspects (or Links) between the planets.

The first component used by Astrology is The Planets. There are ten commonly accepted planetary bodies in all, with some new ones still being debated by astrologers. The Earth is also a fundamental part of Astrology.

In Astrological thought the planets are not there by coincidence or through pure chance but are there according to the fundamental design and meaning of the universe. Each planetary body represents a particular energy in the world; indeed some would call this an Angelic force. This is backed up by many years of observation, literature, Mythology and indeed words in common use in our language.

For example Mars was always known as the God of war and strength and battle. People would invoke this God to inspire them to victory. The red color of the planet epitomized energy and sexuality and drive. We derive words like martial from it, which carries the association of war, discipline and a military order. Mercury on the other hand in Roman mythology was known as the communicator and trickster because he could move so much faster than everyone else.. Mercury was the messenger of the Gods often depicted with wings on his feet. The metal is used for telling the temperature since it is so quick and receptive to change. It is an enormous planet with many orbiting moons, much like a king or queen with its many subjects. It was always deemed in mythology as an expansive, charismatic, positive, lucky force. Indeed many times the earth has been saved from meteors, by Jupiter drawing them in and absorbing them on to its surface.

According to Astrology it is to do with where in the Zodiac the planets are to be found at the time of our birth. This brings us to the second of the areas used in the Art of astrology - The Signs.

The Planets move along a set path along the night sky with the stars as a distant background, since the stars are much further away than the planets. These groups of stars along the path the planets travel are composed of twelve equally sized sets of stars known as signs of the zodiac. The signs beginning from late March are Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. They approximately although not exactly correspond with the named constellations in the sky. The Zodiac is the backdrop or canvas on which the planets are to be seen. For example Mars could have lay in the constellation of Aries at the time of someone's birth. Essentially this means that looking at Mars from the point of view of the earth, the backdrop of stars behind Mars would be those of the Aries part of the Zodiac. Similarly each of the planets would have a backdrop of stars to them at the time of someone's birth and each planet could lie in any one of the 12 Zodiacal signs. Conventional astrology just deals with which constellation the Sun lies in at your time of birth. I.e She's a Leo would mean the Sun at the time of her birth lay in front of the constellation of Leo. Although we wouldn't advise looking to see!

The final area of astrology we shall mention are the connections between the planets. Certain planets are seen as connected with one another if the place they are found at is within a specified angle of another planet when the chart is drawn up as a circle. There are various possible connections between the planets such as a conjunction (next to each other), a trine (120 degrees from each other), a square (90 degrees from each other) and an opposition (180 degrees from each other). These are all symbolic numbers since the circle of 360 degrees is divided by one, two, three or four parts. The conjunction and Trine (the circle divisible by one and three) are considered easy and the Opposition and Square (the circle divisible by two and four) more difficult.

A conjunction of two planets would mean the two energies would express themselves in harmony and indivisible from each other. For example a person with Mars conjunct Mercury would have their personal energy inherently connected to their communicative abilities. They may well have a quick and witty tongue. A square of the same two planets would mean the planetary energies are connected but in a more challenging manner which would involve some kind of tension, perhaps the individual would have a very sharp and critical tongue. This is something they would need to work on during their lives.
